How to access and manage phpMyAdmin?

Administration of your database through phpMyAdmin

phpMyAdmin is a tool written in PHP to manage MySQL administration through the web. The databases must be created in cPanel or Plesk, but phpMyAdmin can delete databases, create, alter tables, delete, edit, add fields, execute any SQL statement, manage keys in fields, and export data in various formats.

 Access to PhpMyAdmin

-cPanel:

To start you must log in to cPanel.

Within the “Databases” category, click on the “phpMyAdmin” icon

Common Errors (cPanel):

By default, WHM registered owners cannot access a database through a cPanel phpMyAdmin dependent. You will receive this error:

"This function is not available while connecting with root override. You are logged in with root or dealer password. Please login with user account password"

To resolve this, you will have to log out from the root, and log into the individual cPanel in order to access a database through phpMyAdmin.

When trying to enter your phpMyAdmin (cPanel> MySQL> phpMyAdmin) you may come across these errors:

 a) # 2002 - Server is not responding (or local MySQL server socket is not configured correctly)

In this case, please contact us so we can restart MySQL.

b) Tables are missing; database not found.

Make sure that the target database has tables. Tables produced manually with the MySQL Databases section of the cPanel.

If you are trying to import information into a database follow this instruction:

If the database has tables in it, but they are not visible, just refresh the screen. Alternatively, click on the Structure tab at the top

When you see your table name, click on the first icon under Actions (Browse).

c) phpMyAdmin shows a login screen

If clicking the phpMyAdmin button on your cPanel takes you to a phpMyAdmin login page, this means that your MySQL and cPanel passwords have been synced. You can solve this yourself, simply by changing your cPanel password.
