CPanel Spam Filter is one of the most effective options to mitigate the problem of spam. Although it is impossible in these times eliminating all the spam that an email account may receive.
CPanel Spam Filter performs multiple tests, both in the headers and in the body of the message, to detect and block any spam. In addition to the tests carried out on email, it also checks with external databases to detect any type of threat quickly and efficiently.
When spam mail is sent, the same message is sent to as many recipients as possible. There are organizations dedicated to check and list these emails already marked as spam, so that they can be identified and blocked without having to re-diagnose.
How to activate Spam Filters
1. Enter the cPanel
2. In the "Email" category select "Spam filters"
3. Activate "Process New Emails and Mark them as Spam"
4. The filter aggressiveness can be modified with the Spam Threshold Score. 1 is the least aggressive and 10 is the most aggressive. This option is 5 by default
Move New Spam to a Separate Folder (Spam Box):
Enable this option to mark suspicious emails as spam. When you enable this option, the server will mark new emails with a calculated spam score higher than Spam Threshold (5) as spam and place them in a separate spam folder for you to review.
Automatically Delete New Spam (Auto-Delete):
Enable this option to automatically delete spam messages. The automatically delete option, permanently deletes new emails with a calculated spam score higher than the Spam Threshold score for automatic deletion.
