How to create an additional domain?

What you should know before creating an additional domain:

Additional domains are handled similarly to subdomains in regards to the file structure listed in your directory.  The URL of an additional domain appears as a primary domain. In general, nothing that happens in the files of the added domain or DNS should affect what happens to the rest of your domains.

Although additional domains don't have their own cPanel, you can still create email accounts, redirects, quick installs, subdomains, etc.

Additional domain URLs

Each added domain is also a subdomain. You can upload your added domain using any of the following addresses:

Additional domain name:

 http://AddedDomain.com/

Subdomain name

 http://AddedDomain.PrimaryDomain.com/

Subfolder name:

 http://PrimaryDomain.com/AddedDomain.com

How to create an additional domain?

First, you must log in to cPanel and click on "Additional Domains" within the "Domains" category.

Once you have entered the indicated item there will be three fields that you must complete to create your added domain:

  1. First the name of the new domain, without adding http or www.
  2. The username or subdomain: this will be the folder that cPanel will create inside "public_html". To make sure that the folder name does not exist, cPanel will suggest one for you.
  3. Password: here you must enter the password you want. It will be used for an FTP account that is automatically created by cPanel.
  4.  You will need to confirm the password to fully secure it.

There will be a field called "Root Document" that will auto-complete.

Once you have completed these steps, your new additional domain will have been successfully created. You can now upload your website files to the added folder created in "public_html"
